I have been blessed over the years as I travel in Europe and some parts of Africa, and seeing the struggles of Orphans breaks my heart. And in most cases, I do the best that I can but the time has come for all of us to put our hands to the plow and extend an arm of generosity to these families and children.
The Orphan project on the mission field, helps children who have lost both parents to HIV/AIDS, Civil war and other causes. Most of the children live with a relative, either grandparents or siblings, though a few live with unrelated guardians. Our goal is to put the children in an orphanage, but most importantly helps them live with families within the community.
A major focus is ensuring the children have access to education in order to establish a foundation for life-long wellbeing. Project Orphan pays school fees, educational materials, uniforms, and related transport costs; and is committed to providing schooling for the children. Money is provided for food or rent in some cases, but only if the lack of it would adversely affect their education.
In order to meet the children’s spiritual needs, strong links are made with local churches to strengthen their spiritual walk with Christ. The project considers vocational training and small businesses or income-generating schemes where appropriate.
Pray: Please pray with us for the children—for emotional, mental and spiritual vitality and resilience.
These orphaned children face challenges most of us cannot imagine. Yet even small inputs of financial assistance, supplemented with loads of unconditional love, can set their lives on an entirely new trajectory. Thank you for your prayer and partnership with us! We couldn’t do it without you.
